Position:

Crew Leader

Purpose:

Responsible for daily crew activities, supervision and development.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1-year experience in arboriculture techniques and ability to proficiently demonstrate the same.

Proven and demonstrated capabilities in communications, training and mentoring techniques.

Valid state of Illinois C.D.L. drivers license with good driving record.

Certified tree worker or ability to obtain certification within six months.

Valid state of Illinois pesticide license as an applicator or operator or the ability to obtain license within six months.

Accountability:

Company Manager an/or Foreman

Responsibility:

Organize and support a cohesive working environment throughout your assigned crew while safely, successfully and productively completing current workloads.

Actively promote and encourage employee development, along with assisting in or implementing training and/or safety programs in accordance with N.A.A., O.S.H.A., and industry approved safety and training standards.

Perform total quality management support by reviewing each and every jobsite prior to leaving clients property.

Monitor daily assigned equipment and provide any and all necessary repairs or maintenance on daily basis, any equipment operating improperly or requiring major repairs is to be reported immediately to the company manager and/or foreman.

Cooperate with all supervisors to develop and maximize the benefits of a teamwork effort.

Complete daily crew reports and communicate with client(s) in the absence of the Foreman or Manager/Sales Representative.

Prepare your crew and assigned equipment at the beginning of each workday for successful completion of designated tasks/jobs.

Prepare all required reports regarding any accident, injury, loss, breakage, etc. that may occur and submit to Foreman/Manager as soon as possible but no later than 24 hours after incident. Verbally report all accidents IMMEDIATELY to Manager.

Authority To Act:

Support and assist in the recruiting and hiring of qualified personnel to achieve crew goals. Discipline , correct and/or recommend termination of any personnel unable or unwilling to meet Company standards and expectations.

Oversee the maintenance of all equipment used or assigned to your crew utilizing the most efficient and expeditious resources available.

Purchase necessary equipment according to approved plans/budget and unapproved or unbudgeted items as needed

Standard of Performance:

Achievement of crew production goals established daily, weekly, monthly and annually.

Average production relates to meet or exceed accepted budget.

Safety schedules and goals to be documented and met on a monthly basis.

Employee Development - All training projects and timetables to be documented and submitted on a monthly basis.
